UPGRADE, THE MOVIE
There is a school of thought that there are ancient non-biological sentient beings that need organic or human hosts. That is, what we call "evil or demons" are these ancient sentient beings that are seeking human hosts to feel and be "humans".
It is a far-fetched idea and may seem absurd or even like a fictional fairy tale. However, any person with even a little perception of religion, spirituality, or faith should not find it difficult to give a semblance of possibility to this idea. Taking Christianity as an example, both the devil and the Holy Spirit, or God, seek to inhabit humans. So yeah, a non-biological, albeit this time a "spiritual" being, can inhabit a human or an organic host.
Again, even if one is not a Christian, the same idea is not far-fetched for those who practice occultism, pagan theism, or any other form of religion. In virtually all religions, occult or not, entities do inhabit or seek to inhabit man.
The place where we may find a possible disagreement with this idea will be with atheists. However, even there, we are not safe from this idea, for in their efforts to deny and depart from a "spiritual" entity inhabiting or taking control of them, they have gravitated to a future and the possibility of "machines, computers, or software" inhabiting and hosting them. This has been subtle for some time. Evidence in our deeper connection and desire to be "online" and connected to digital computers or machines. Leading to the singularity that future prophets of science have been foretelling for some time. Indeed, the most public effort at that is Elon Musk's Neurolink Systems.
From an atheist perspective, he is connecting to a machine or taking over the machine by inputting the machine or software into himself or herself.
What we don't realize is that the machine is rather seeking to inhabit us than the machine.
So, even with this, you cannot escape from the idea of man being inhabited or taken over by an external entity. God, the devil, AI, you name it.
The two questions to end this with are: could (as some have postulated) the machine, AI, or software of technology be that of ancient senile beings seeking to inhabit an organic being? an ancient act that they have disguised to look like the development and advancement of the human race". When in fact it may rather be an attempt to "capture humans as organic hosts for them.
The second question is, Why does everything want to inhabit humans? What are you that God, the gods, and the devils need your body for? And what at all is so special about Earth that these supposedly more powerful, privileged, and better-off people still want to come to Earth to live here?
After all, as far as I know, most earthlings have so many complaints and problems with the earth.
Movies are a medium for spreading and communicating hidden truths in plain sight and also telling the real stories of men through acting. Some movies in the past have expressed this idea of beings seeking to possess men. At first, it was "spiritual" beings.
Now, however, the thing seeking to inhabit and live in an organic body is the machine, or computer. Everyone wants to experience what it is like to be human.
Who will win? Will we use the machine, or will the machine end up using us? Do we need the machines, or are the machines those who need us and are slowly but gently prodding us to that point where we will be easily possessed and taken over?
There is a 2018 movie that speaks to this idea; watching it today, it feels like it was produced in 2023. It is a movie you should watch.
